Hi...I am Robert....i recently became the owner of a Selmer Tenor Mark VI....the pads look good to my uneducated eye and the finish is great (i presume it is original lacquer, but i don't know how to tell)....the serial number is 228823 which i believe to be a 1974 made in paris....i am trying to come up with a fair price....all help would be appreciated.....

I'd suggest you sell the mpc separately. You'd need a good close up of the bell engraving (macro setting of your camera) and SN stamp for people to determine original lacquer or not, and also telling a bit about the history could help (heirloom?). These are good horns, don't fetch the prices of earlier ones, though. A good idea would be to go to your local music shop (provided they've got a woodwind tech) to ask them how much it would cost to put it in good playing cond. This way you'll know more about pads, action etc.
