Hi,
I play on a navarra maestra for a few weeks and I have some difficulty to stay on one brand of reed... The tip opening is 8. I have good result with RJS 3M filed and unfiled, vandoren V21 3 but only with one in a box of 5... the others arent stuffy no vibrant... what kine of brand do you use with this piece? My sound concept is linkish sound, mostly dark but love thé color that thé maestra give to my sound.
Sorry for my bad english,
Thanks for your help!
Damien

Hi Damien
I had a HR Navaro a few years back,it was a very easy and great tenor mpc.
Though i think it was a Bahia i had,but never had any problems with my Rico Jazz Select reeds that i was using then.
I am pretty sure that it will be a very good match for your Maestra ,in my opinion of course.
All the best

Thanks saxobari!
In fact I think I should try softer reeds like RJS 3S. With an 8 tip openning it should work better ?
What do you advice me filed or unfiled ?

I played both, and really never mattered to me,filed or unfilled.
Played 2.5 Jazz Select on tenor.
Even played those for a few years on bari saxophone with great result.
Of course soft were my favorites, but they don t last as long as my Lavoz reeds today.
I think you should try them, again it is just my opinion. :)
All the best
