Does anyone know whether Nat Perrilliat ever recorded any albums on his own?
Also, does anyone have any information about his career?
I was talking with Johnny Pennino (The Tenor Sax King of New Orleans- http://johnnypennino.com/) last night -a wonderful sax player in his own right with an amazing range- who praised Nat Perrilliat not only as a terrific player but also for the important and influential role he played in the development of r&b in the 50's and 60's as well as his significant contributions in Jazz.
Unfortunately, so far it's been hard to find much information about him other than this paragraph -http://www.afofoundation.org/musicians (towards the bottom of the page)- and the three single selections in John Laughter's "The History of 'Top 40' Saxophone Solos".
Accordingly, all contributions will be great appreciated.
