I'll be with the Naptown Brass Band this Friday night at Chamber's Park in the Parole neighborhood of Annapolis, MD. This is a free concert in a neighborhood park where you can bring lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. There will also be food vendors as well for the last concert of the Summer series.

This is a really fun group I joined earlier in the year, and things have really taken off. It seems we've got parties, parades, celebrations of life and even wedding gigs every weekend now. The group is inspired by their friend and mentor from New Orleans, Kirk Joseph and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and fun is the main ingredient.

Here we are in a clip from a recent fundraising event having fun with the "ladies":

A little more info on this...

We have a really entertaining keyboard/blues singer joining us at this gig. In addition to our brass band repertoire, we're going to also do a mini Dixieland set and some Bayou blues. This park is in an older neighborhood just on the edge of city limits and it's nice that we can bring a show to the folks there that can just walk up the street to catch us, who might not be able to go out and spend the bucks at the commercial music venues in town. I've played this park a few times with other groups and it's always a very positive experience. Should anyone decide to swing by, just make sure you bring a folding chair along with you. You can park along Dorsey Ave. in front of the park entrance.
