Hi. I am a freshman in college and play in a freshman saxophone quartet that has yet to be named. We play classical saxophone literature (we are currently working on Bozza's Andante et Scherzo) and therefore need a very formal name for performances. However, we simply can't settle on a name. Any ideas?

Don't use The Four Freshmen...already been done, though by a very different kind of group.

Formal name huh... Well, I guess 'Four Horny Freshman' is out of the question.

What are a few of the ideas you have tossed around amongst yourselves?
Just so we have a basic idea of what you are looking for.

LOL. I had a band that never really made it out of the garage. The guys wanted to call it "Morningwood." They thought it was kewl and that people wouldn't get the joke. I said I refused to perform with that name.

How about "Saxual Excellence" (Too suggestive?) How about "Il Quatro Saxello!" (Has kind of an "Itallian" flair...) "Saxual Harmony!!" (Oops... went back to the suggestive stuff!) Umm..... "Saxual Performance?" (Dang! I just can't seem to get away from those suggestive names!) Okay, let's give it one more shot... I'm assuming that you've already thought of and discarded "The (fill in the blank) University Freshmen Saxophone Quartet" or some other such sobriquet. How about "Nuveau Sax?"
