I've just been alerted by Youtube that a video I uploaded has been classified not suitable for children.

Please don't watch this if you are under 18 or likely to be offended by certain things.

Am I the only person who sees what appears to be full frontal starting at 0:08? I certainly can understand why someone might find it to be inappropriate for young children.
Well yes, exactly.

In the United States, the film was rated NC-17 for "nudity and erotic sexuality throughout, some graphic language, and sexual violence."

It's not exactly subtle nor is it meant to be. I'm not trying to argue with them about it! The whole movie is more or less wall to wall full frontal. I just find it odd they took so long to notice it.

No saxophones?
I did of course ask Paul if I could be on stage in that scene but he politely declined my offer. Maybe that's why he got the Golden raspberry award for worst movie of the 90s.

That reminded me of the 10 months I spent playing in the Flamingo show in the Reno Sahara. It was affectionately known among musicians as the "tits and *** on ice revue"...

Regarding the opening scene, I disagree with the "full-frontal" characterization. She was wearing pasties, wasn't she?

When I first moved up north I didn't realize that in Michigan "pasties" are something you eat, not an article of alleged clothing. That led to some memorable conversations; I was quite surprised when the parish bulletin said that the local Catholic Sisters would be having a pastie sale in the fellowship hall after Mass.

Pete, very cool that you got to work with Verhoeven (and great playing, of course). One of my favorite directors, and I think that a few of his films (including this one and Starship Troopers) are widely misunderstood. I think the story goes that he accepted the Golden raspberry in person

OMG, Pete! Didn't realize that was you playing the quintessential sax riff of the '90s. Cool!

I'm flummoxed by YouTube's dictum that br**sts are not suitable to be seen by children. Many, many children have seen br**sts up close in the first months (or years) of life, & in fact owe their continued existence to br**sts. As does director Paul Verhoeven, whose excellent early films made in The Netherlands -- Turkish Delight, Keetje Tippel, & Spetters -- tastefully display br**sts in the context of well-told cinematic narratives.
