Hi, last Friday there was a YouTube premiere of a concert that we did during Jazz in Ruins Festival. It was quite special as I invited my friend Jakub - a great tenor player to sit in with us.
Cool experience to hear another saxophonist playing your tunes. Also like the vibe that two tenors can create.
For equipment geeks (I'm one of them) I was playing on a Selmer Super Action Series II with a Jody Jazz Hr* 8, D'Addario Jazz Select 3M filed reed and a Francois Louis ligature.
Jakub plays a Conn 10m with an Otto Link Early Babbitt 7*, D'Addario Jazz Select 3M reed (not sure which version) and an Ishimori Woodstone lig.
Hope you'll like it. Please share your feedback and have a nice evening!

Excellent playing guys. Very nice compositions. Really nice contrast between your styles as exemplified on the blues number. Cool rhythm section. What’s not to like? Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hearing more from you both as a group and individually.

Thank you! Thats what I thought when inviting Jakub to join our band. We both have different style and sound concept. Really like his playing.

Amazing playing all of you. Top musicianship. Speaking of the 2 of you tenors, considering the quite different horns you play, they blend very well, your intonation is excellent on all those unisons. Great concert. And thanks for sharing. Poland seems so ... far away.

Thanks! I was worried about those unisons but fortunately they turned out fine (excluding a few mistakes). Yeah it's cool that distance is not a problem nowadays.

I'm only a few songs in but I'm really enjoying it. Nice playing and writing.

I'm curious if you learned anything, or anything surprised you by the experience? How did it feel different than playing with a trumpet/bone?

People tend not to book two tenor players together, but there's great albums with that setup: Boss Tenors, Brecker/Mintzer, Seamus Blake/Chris Cheek
