Hi everybody,
first sorry for my english, I'm french from Quebec.
I bought a Venus curved sop some months ago and as it's been a real positive surprise, I decided to buy a tenor sax for partys, outdoor use etc...unfortunately it wasn't a so much happy experience. I first ask to the dealer to double check the horn before shipping ; they reply the ''specialist'' was out for a week so the horn couln't be shipped before 8 days. Then, once I got the thing, it was impossible to play a note under low E. The higher F sharp had a gap at least 1/16'' and the octave pad didn't closed at all. I just can't believe this horn has been fully checked as promised...
Now believing that a saxophone is not a human heart, I decided to do the adjustments by myself and now it plays OK. Intonation and tuning are very decent for a US $250.00 sax ( using a Selmer mp ). At least better that my first Evette Buffet student sax. It's heavy, looks sturdy ...I don't know what to think about...I already bought a $2000.00 soprano that all the plastic pearl imitation fell down in a week...
Conclusion : I can't say this is a bad purchase. Hope this thread will be useful.
Cheers, Jocelyn
