My 8-piece swing band

Here is a clip from a recent swing dance, that I found posted on "goswingdancing.com"

The band is listed on the web-sight as Jerry Costanzo. He's a singer that we often back up. The band is actually Andy Farber & his Swing Mavens.

This clip features the Mel Brooks tune "Springtime For (you-know-who)" from the movie and Broadway show "The Producers".

Yours truly on tenor.
Jerry Dodgion; ALTO
Jay Brandford; BARITONE

...and a bunch of cats NOT playing the saxophone.

Andy,
Thanks for sharing that. Nice playing (you and the band) and the arrangement is nice too.

Thanks! That was a substitute pianiste and bass player sight-reading the book.

It's hard to tell on youtube that I was blowing my silver plated BA with an old NY "Master Link".

Jerry Dodgion was playing the late Jerome Richardson's old mk6 alto, with a Morgan mpce.

Jay Brandford was playing his mk6 baritone with a rubber Berg.
Andy- you sound great & the arrangement is swingin!

I saw Jerry C.last nite at our big band rehearsal (Swingtime)and mentioned the clip to him & how much I enjoyed your playing & writing.
Wow really nice job almost thought I went back in time there for a second. Can you send me the score or the Tenor part I would really like to play it?

Sounds great! Nice playing, man.
Sounding good Andy. Thanks for sharing.
Andy,

Great sound.

I met Jerry Dodgion a long time ago. I can't remember where...maybe playing with the Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra ?

(From a fellow silver plated B/A player)
Great sounding band!! The Alto players sweet tone really stuck out. Very nice sound.
