I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, so sorry if it isnt...

I'm looking for my first horn after the school rental. Preferably, this is of good quality, not top professional, but something I can use well for years to come.
Any suggestions of generally what to look at would be appreciated.

Anyone know of any good stores in Boston/Cambridge that has a good selection?

or you might get a better deal if you contact Kritavi on this board. He lives in the Boston area and he has tons of good horns (student and pro.) I have bought from him and Rayburns. Rayburns would be my second choice.

Bob Drinkwater in Stoneham might have a horn or two as well. Definitely check with Kritavi and Rayburns as well.

For used horns you could try Les Arbuckle.

For new horns defivitely J. Michael Leonard.

Both are honest sellers, skillful techniciansa and musicians. Les has played jazz profesionally and is a member of this forum. Mike Leonard is a top notch classical saxophonist.
