i am struggling with this notation on muse score

For me the dot comes on the right side of the second note, but other than that, I don't know what is the problem?

- Press 3 for the sixteenth and insert the note
- Press 4 and dot for the eighth and a half note and insert

Agreed. one fourth of the time for the first note, three fourths for the second note, with the dot after that second note.

That does not look like a muse score screen shot!
