I currently have a wood tray with a microfiber towel on it where I keep my mouthpieces when playing at home (almost ALL that I do).
It isn't unusual for me to have 3-5 in use (recording).
Has anyone found a drying rack that would be useful?

Interested to find something that keeps them upright, easy to find and not tip over and of course...not damage them.

Don't have this personally, mine all sit on top of a satin bag while waiting to be used. However, the rack idea is interesting.

I would be worried about damage from straight wood if you arent super careful. The rack whose picture you posted plus some 1/4" foam tape wrapped around each one could be a good option. As long as the base is steady, which you could make a platform for it as well.

If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, you can get one of these (or these for slightly less), but I don't think you really need one. The materials that most mouthpieces are made of (i.e., metal, plastic, hard rubber) are smooth and non-porous and should dry quickly after you run a swab through them. Also, the moisture won't really do them any harm.

I think these sorts of stands are really meant for people who are working on (e.g., refacing) mouthpieces. I just keep my active mouthpieces in a shallow tray.

Take a piece of your favorite board, and drill it for 1/2” dowels, cut to about 3” long. I round of the ends of the dowels for aesthetics. Shape and stain if you feel an urge to be crafty or artistic. I used to give ‘em as presents.

I took a 1x10, cut it in length, and have drilled holes for pegs made from wood dowels. It's around 18" long, 9-1/4" wide, and holds around 30 mouthpieces (different dowel diameters for Bari/Tenor - Alto - Soprano).

A pretty easy DIY thing, really.....

Strangely, my mouthpieces can often be found wrapped & padded in sax cases (for gigs), scattered all over my desk (for woodshedding & admiration), or lying inert in a drawer (for sale). They function best when bridging the distance between my lips & the horn.

I dropped a few and that cured me of that :)
For gigs, I have gun accessory pouches that do a pretty good job.

I have them all in a small drawer set i got on amazon (previously in a Container Store desktop drawer organizer until that became my neck drawer) and use a Container Store divider box (lid tossed) inside the drawer to keep them all neatly separated for the ones I am using at the moment.

I don't like leaving them out for fear of sunlight damage via nearby windows.

Hi guys!

My friend Ed made me a beautiful mouthpiece rack and he can make any size for anyone.

He is a member here under the name saxwizzard.

Here is the info from him:

"I have built custom designs for some manufactures and stores this year to display their products. I have also created 4,8, and 12 post models to fit on someone's desk. I use mine for mouthpieces ligatures and sax necks. They fit all saxophone mouthpiece from soprano to bari and even clarinet mouthpieces. I even make them for brass mouthpieces. Since the business has picked up I am in the process of adding an order page to my website. I will post the link here when I am finished within the next week. I can make the stands for any size or shape or idea as they are custom built in oak or maple as well.

Phil,
Talk to Ed and he can answer any questions about that. He could make you a great mouthpiece holder with your logo on it.
Nice to display when guys come over to get a refacing, etc.

I use the accessory area of the saxophone case. If I'm leaving the horn out on a stand at home I lay the mouthpiece on a nearby table or desk. But what do I know? I just play the thing.

In truth, I like to have a little bag in the case, which holds the mouthpiece, reeds, reed tools, pencils, ear plugs. Then I just lay the little bag on the floor next to my chair on the bandstand rather than cluttering up the area with the sax case (usually you have to put cases off stage anyway), or alternatively having to get up from my chair to find something in my sax case.
