has anyone ever used Dawn for cleaning a mouthpiece? i have some sort of white stuff that constantly reappears everytime i play, i scrape and brush etc and nothing seems to work. Does Dawn have any adverse affects on the mouthpiece (hard rubber) I remember in bio class we did a project where it was an intense cleaner so thats my next guess for cleaning this thing

Unless you are looking to reface your mouthpiece, go easy with the scaping and scrubbing. The white discoluration could be many things....or it could just be discolouration. The golden rule when fiddling with, cleaning, fixing, tweaking, etc, is: First...DO NO HARM.

Steve Howard is doing a great service to all of us by taking the time to test, try out different methods, and post his findings. There's a lot of good info and some good laughs to be had. Check it out.
