I am thinking of buying a Morgan vintage mpc for my Buffet Super Dynaction tenor.

So, anyone who has played this particular mpc model, please tell me: What is the size of the chamber on this Morgan model? What is the sound like, e.g, dark, warm, lushy as its name suggests?

I also have a rubber Berg (100/2) that I use on my Conn-Selmer tenor, and the sound is awesome (similar to that of Scott Hamilton or Ken Peplowski)! Do you think the Berg would work on the Buffet?

Thanks.

The Berg should work great. I've used a Morgan 8EL and 9EL on my tenor and they both sound awesome. I prefer the 8EL because it is a little more focused and allows me to use harder reeds, which allows me to have better projection, better intonation, and more stability in the high notes.

Thanks, Bfoster, for your reply.

Since the SDA is said to like large-chambered mpcs, do you think the Morgan Jazz L model will well on it? Apparently, the jazz model is darker than the EL one, and I am after a dark tone.

Morgan Vintage

Don't do it - I just bought a Morgan Vintage for my baritone from Junk Dude - It was not stable and did not give the vintage sound - Don't know if it is a design or mfgr problem - Sent an email to Junk Dude about it, but got no reply.
