I know that most of you guys have more then one horn. Does anyone switch off from horn to horn depending on style of music? Classical on one horn and and Jazz on the other? Do you just switch mouthpieces and stick with one horn?
I have a two selmer altos (MK VI and Series III). Was wondering if I should have two setups. Just pick a case for what ever I will play that day. (I play a C* soloist, and a Berg Larsen 80/2 M) Which horn would you recomend for each style?

Topher,

I luckily, too have a mark VI and a Series III both in Alto. I like both but i am currently playing the series III because i play mainly classical, and i use a long shank soloist with it. For jazz, i like the sound I get only with a ligature change using the same set up. to me, it takes too much effort to play two horns and that is just me. Also, every horn is differnt so you probably will do better if you stick with one and know the horn from head to toe. Hope it help in anyway. Good luck!
