Most on this forum are acquainted with my true love of over 30 years, but I went French yesterday for the first time in months and I'm blown away!

My French girl is a 118000 series de-lac Emilio-ized Tenor. I use my Florida Link 8* STM exclusively on her neck.

I pulled her out and fell in love again, just like Emilio said would happen every time.

I played her effortlessly through all 5 octaves up and down, it scared the crap out of me! I played through a few cycles of my current band's repertoire, including those I play on alto and soprano, with nice projection and edge.

I'm scared. My Super 20 heard us and was holding back later.

Should I play my Mark VI tonight and leave the Super 20 at home?

I feel like I'm cheating.:(

I say go French. Stop being so parochial! But don't blame me when it all goes wrong and you end up sitting on the front step and crying into your gig bag. ;)

Camp - no way. Send the 20 to MN for cold storage.

Marty, I'm right here in your town. Though I am a love of the french as well (107,xxx Emilio-ized with a Florida STM 6), I will find a nice place where it can mingle with my 30M and The Martin Tenors. ;)

If you have any problems with the thumbhook then look into a Forza. Just be careful, once you go French...

Hey Marty,

You've been accused of saying some questionably off-colour things on this forum, but this last post was just plain mean!

I would say a menage a trois is in order, just in case Frenchie holds out on you when you really start to get hot and heavy. You know the 20 will give you whatever you want.

Yup, there are things you would do to a girl from Cleveland that you wouldn't imagine doing to a Parisienne.

There are more than five. I stopped when it started to hurt.

Y'know, that was a big problem. I just couldn't get it to sit on my right thumb right. It definitely affected my playing, but I still sounded f'n awesome!

Sounds to me like your super 20 needs a vacation in the sun. Just send her to me. I'll show her around!
