That looks pretty real to me. (but i'm no expert)

The case in the final pic looks like a bit of a cheapie though so shipping would worry me.

My last MK VI tenor was satin silver with the keys and french flower engraving in shiny silver plate. It was an ex army horn.1 owner from new in 1962.Seen a few satin silver original mk vi horns like that about.Selmer done blue, red and white horns also on special order.

It's got a conn style trill key too! V interesting, I'd have normally thought it was a replate, but that trill key changes all to me, never seen a vi with those mechanics before....
I suppose the trill key could tie it in to being a military horn.. (i have a mate who used to play in the Royal Marines band, they certainly did a lot of trilling... ;-)

additional trills were very common and hardly a Conn feature, almost all pre WWII saxophones had G# and Eb trills and sometime more, if this would be a U.S. Navy instrument, I think, it would be marked as such
Oh, it's real. It's a beauty but I agree, $14,000? That's a little steep!
all it takes is two people fighting for it, if you want one are you easily going to find another?

I stand corrected re Conn, yep, have seen them many times before on other horns too, I just always think of my 10m when I see this...
Agree though $14,000 a lot of cash, surely a collectors price?
I don't many touring players who could afford this kind of cash..

Royal Marine horns or military horns (UK) I believe often have a mark somewhere on the underside of bell flare...

Probably just the angle of the pic, but the bell/body ring looks like it's at kind of a weird angle. I seem to remember my SBA looking a little "straighter". But, alas, that's been a while.......

Sure looks like a VI to me.

That is a nice looking horn! Though, to me, not $14,000 nice!
+1. While it may be worth 14k in terms of 'collectability' and cosmetics, if I was in the market for a VI tenor, I'd look for one that plays great, first and foremost. They are already very expensive, so I wouldn't want to pay even more just to get a brushed silver or gold plate or other cosmetic asset.

If you want a great horn with a great sound in brushed silver finish, get a 'series one' or 'Big B' Buescher Aristocrat! You can get one for 1/10th the price of that VI...

It is legit. Those extra keys were an options package in Europe. My alto has them and I got it new in 1964. Rear Eb, RH G# key (not a trill), RH lever for high Eb and high F#. The G# works by pressing it alone and the LH pinky does not need to be depressed.
