There's some challenging material in the Contemporary and Jazz&Funk etudes (two volumes). Play along with Mr. Mintzer or with only accompaniment. Some are challenges due to tempo, some have large intervals and some have both at once. Besides Mintzer's style, he also plays in tune (duh). Great for honing the last little bit of tuning accuracy in your playing.

The Easy and Blues/Funk (two more volumes) are more sight reading material as they aren't as much of a technical challenge. I'll amend that; I'm building clarinet chops and they definitely help with that horn.

I'll have to check that out. I have his Medium-Easy Jazz, Blues, and Funk etudes, and I like the book. I also like Essential Jazz Etudes....The Blues, by Jack Wilkins.....
