Thank you for this post. Milford Graves, as a drummer and as a human being, is in a category of one, I think. If anybody can turn back time, it's Milford Graves.
I think I saw him play at the first Vision Festival in New York, back in the 90s. He expressed the opinion then that age ought not to be a barrier to continued excellence in performance, and he provided plenty of evidence to back up his opinion that night. But... time catches up to all of us eventually. I don't know him personally, but I agree that his drumming is one of a kind. I wish him well.
