Hello all, I would love to invite you all to two concerts taking place in Ann Arbor, Michigan, featuring the Donald Sinta Saxophone Quartet. On May 5th, the Michigan Symphony Band is having a send-off concert before we leave for China and will perform the new band version of Bolcom's Concerto Grosso for Saxophone Quartet and Band. This concert will be in Hill Auditorium at 8pm on May 5th, free of charge.

The next evening, May 6th, we will be giving a quartet recital in Stamps Auditorium at 8pm. On the program are works by Albright, Biedenbender, Wanamaker, Dvorak, Harlin, and world premieres by Ron Amchin and Xinyan Li. We would love to have you all there. The next day we'll all be on a plane for 15 hours...

Also, just so no one gets the wrong idea about the name of our quartet: We named ourselves after Professor Sinta not only to give a tribute to our mentor and teacher but also to recognize that our Symphony Band's tour to China and L.A. which is happening this May is also the 50th anniversary of the 1961 tour to Russia where Don Sinta was the featured soloist on the Creston Concerto with William Revelli conducting the Michigan Band. The members are Dan Graser-soprano, Zach Stern-alto, Joe Girard-tenor, Danny Hawthorne-Foss-bari.
