mic sensitivity

1216 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JCBigler
I have a Mark VI Variotne. I no longer have the amp or control box. I have connected a jack to the wire coming out if the mic in the neck. The problem is: the mic is to sensitive to get any real volume. It picks up actual breathing and if you tap the mental mouthpiece it comes through the speaker. Any suggestions?

Thanks

A three way in-line pad should do the trick. Unless your mic uses something other than an XLR connection.

JC-it has 1/4"
Is that 1/4" TRS, or just TS? If the former then you can just get a 1/4" TRS-F to XLR adapter. If the latter, then you will likely have to get an impedance converting adapter.
