Meyer NY USA 3M alto mpc question

To the refacers; what is realistic in opening up an old Meyer NY USA in a 3M facing? Curious to hear what opinions are. And second question, would you pursue doing so?

Went through the same thing with a vintage NY Meyer 3M about a year ago. Among the refacers I communicated with, general consensus was comfortably maxing out between .070" (5) and .075" (6). I ended up selling it as-was, but I wouldn't've hesitated to have it opened.
