Meyer NY USA 3M alto mpc question

To the refacers; what is realistic in opening up an old Meyer NY USA in a 3M facing? Curious to hear what opinions are. And second question, would you pursue doing so?

Thx for the info. I briefly spoke with Jimmy a Jensen last spring and he thought maybe opening to a 5 max as the tip rail is quite thin as is. I wasn’t convinced of messing with it, as is with a stiffer reed it’s actually a nice pops/classical mpc that I could see working for pops orchestra stuff. But then I saw an original 3 like this one for sale for quite a bit and thought maybe I’m missing something and should have it opened up if it would be something super special afterward! Ha!
