Does anyone know of an affordable mouthpiece that will give me basically the sound of a Meyer New York? I have a HR Meyer now and it's OK but I'd like something a little closer to the NY. Is there a noticable difference? Don't feel like sinking $500 into an original no matter how bad the G.A.S. attacks are. I think I saw where Phil Barone has something close. Thanks.

I think somebody (Eric Grefenhagen or something like that) modifies V16s to the exact specs of a NY Meyer. I think Junkdude has one for sale for 175 bucks or at least they did...

I think that Phil Barone's NY HR pieces have that 'pop' that everyone talks about meYers having, and they're relatively inexpensive.

I've tried most of these (Barone, GW, Pillinger etc) and the Modern Meyer is still the best bet by far-just make sure you try enough of them in a shop.
The next best is a V16 or Pillinger.

I'm borrowing an old NY6 at the moment and not all of them are great or even good.
