Just had this idea: a mobile phone metronome application. Programmed in java or whatever. Your metronome would be right at hand.
Surely some SotW member could write this, allthough i can't myself. What do you think?

What a friggin brilliant idea! Having a metronome at all times! And with the headphone out jack on most cell phones, one could easily patch into a P.A. speaker!

I use a Treo 650, which is a phone/palm pilot thing. I downloaded a couple of different metronomes for it, and they've come in handy quite a few times.

I know some of the new Sony Ericsson phones have metronomes

My Ericsson (w880i) has a program called music mate with three functions: metronome, guitar chords and virtual keyboard. I haven't found a tuner for Symbian OS, but the virtual keyboard can be used to tune instruments.

For the treo you can get both metronomes and tuner, "perfect pitch" is good.
