I've got a lot of Aebersold stuff and only one of Greg Fishman's (Etudes Vol. 3) but I plan to get more of Fishman's. Not that I dislike J.A. but the Fishman stuff is a lot more fun to play (for me). It sounds more like real jazz tunes with great backing musicians. YMMV!

I like Jim Snidero. My instructor has me working out of Snidero's Advanced Jazz Concepts book right now. He also has me working out of Aebersold's Maiden Voyage Vol. 54 book. To me they come at you from different angles. Aebersold's book helps with understanding soloing and how to pick out the notes in chords and when to play them. Snidero helps a lot more with some of the technical stuff like timing, tempo, some articulation stuff, etc. But I like them both and I've learned some stuff from both. Anything's better than those boring blue books by Rubank and Kynaston. Rather stick my head down a running garbage disposal. Painful.

I have Aebersold, Snidero, and Vol. I of Fishman. Based on those, I ordered Vol. II of Fishman's, far more enjoyable and life-like to play along with those, and they are really well thought out, too. Not that Snidero isn't, but I think his were done for an Alto, and I play tenor, and something about them in the tenor book is not quite as good as Fishman's. My 2 cents worth.
