I've got a Yanagisawa metal baritone mouthpiece that Im looking for a metal ligature for.....maybe a Vandoren optimum..Anybody have any recommendations?

Problem solved

I ended up getting one of the Yanagisawa ligatures (the obvious choice ) that would have originally come with the mouthpiece - I was in a music store and the guy had an old one that he sold me for $10 (list price was close to $50!). As I didnt have a ligature I was interested in hearing peoples opinions about what might have played well on it - Vandoren, Ultimate etc - to order through the internet (my local stores just dont carry this stuff!).

The original ligs that come with the Yani pieces aren't that bad actually. Only problem I've had is the lig on my tenor piece has stretched a bit and doesn't quite tighten enough...so the reed is a bit loose. The ligs on my Sop and Alto are fine. Glad you found something....enjoy!

Hi,

I have used a Francois Louis "Ultimate" ligature for tenorsax on my Yanagisawa Bari mouthpiece, its much better then the original one.
