I recently acquired an alto similar to this tenor:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Silver-Finish-Martin-Saxophone-Low-Pitch-U-S-/263519892005?hash=item3d5b027225%3Ag%3A2FAAAOSwY19alE6O&nma=true&si=riMoXeSsUd26o7%252FIjbC1%252BichVmc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The serial number 145xxx places the horn as being from the WWII era. It seems the instrument came in an original case provided by Buescher.

What I would like to know is:
1. Do any of you know more about this particular line of instruments?
2. A more general question: What is the best way to polish a silver-plated horn?
