Hi everyone,

How do you price properly one of these horns?, I have been looking around and there is a big range in price, I know that it depends on condition, but let's assume that original lacquer at 80% good pads maybe good for another decade?

Any ideas?

Thanks and best,

Search sold ones on feebay. Use Craigslist, save the hassle of shipping. Expect that whatever you ask, the buyer will always ask if you can go lower. When all is said and done, it is whatever you can get someone to pay. I am guessing 1200 to 1750 USD.

Check the prices on 'World Wide Sax' which will be considerably higher, but if you can find a nice, playable '50s Committee III for $1500, better get it. Don't be afraid of tone booster pads in one, either, because they still sound great - just louder!

I have a late 40s monster of a player's horn I've been listing for $1900. Worth every penny.

I sold a working one...for around $1k a couple months back. It was in decent playing condition but the finish was dead and it had been severely buffed. However, someone had removed the original strap ring for a 3 position King style one. Best thing about that horn. 80% original lacquer with good pads in good playing condition...$1.3k-$1.5k with a private seller sounds about right. Asking $1.5k (if you're selling) should get some action.

***Mine listing (May 25th on eBay) actually sold for ~$1,150 plus tax.*** Had to re-look it up.
