I am a student saxophonist. I play alto.
Shopping for a tenor.

the local/semi-local options I have on my plate are

Martin Imperial
King Lemaire - czech? - serial unknown
Vito - serial in the 010000's

All are about 450$
They all come with a mouthpiece, most also with a harness/strap.

I plan on making sure each one plays and has decent pads.
Now each is a different distance, up to and hour and a half away.

My question is which would you choose to try out first, why, and which is most likely to be of better quality/playability?

Also are there any things besides pads and playability that I should keep an eye out for in buying a used tenor?

looking more for advice than poll responses,
sorry if this is in the wrong forum area

Should we presume that the E & S is the Martin Imperial? Who knows about King Lemaire? Vito could be a Yani? You haven't exactly come with a list of easily recognizable horns. Condition should be important and I'd lean towards a Yani (if that's what it is) or a Martin as they are very well made. Don't know anything about the other one. Not much help, but you've put an almost impossible question forward that is anything but clear as we have no idea what are "stencils" in this group.
