I know the neck tubes on the II vs. III Tenors are significantly different, so from an intonation standpoint they are not a good match.
Not sure about the Altos...

BUT the problem is gonna be...the III neck has the tightening screw on the neck, thus the III neck receiver is not gonna be able to tighten a II neck, and a III neck will not insert into a II receiver well.

So you would have to change the neck receiver...or the tenon...of one or the other.

Yes a I and a II will take each other's necks, perhaps requiring a small tenon tweak...they also will take Handcraft and Handcraft Imperial necks.

There is a guy somewhere in Europe I believe who offers "III-type" tenon assemblies which make a replacement neck fit a III body....I remember seeing this somewhere before (although you could also just have a machinist make one, probably would be no more expensive, really).

I post this a lot, but if you have not seen it, here is a really important 'neck matching' aspect when hunting for replacement necks:

Interesting video. but wouldn't it be possible to correct for neck variations by mouthpiece placement to some degree?
