Hello,

What are the Mark VI neck (81 000) characteristics.? How be sure when I want to buy a tenor saxophone Mark VI the neck is original. In france there is not the serial number graved on the neck.

Thank you

It doesn't really matter if it's original...it should simply be the best playing neck on that horn.

I don't really understand what you're asking. The pics don't work, but if they are photos of a neck, I'm not sure what that will tell us. I guess we could verify it's a VI neck, but that's about all. If you buy a VI tenor, it will have a MKVI neck. If it doesn't then don't buy the horn.

I can go on the pics with the third link.
I want to buy a tenor Mk VI and i want to know if the neck is his own. If think it is. But is there some differencies between a 80 xxx neck and a 100 or 130 XXX neck for example. Does necks present some special characteristics through long mark vI production.

Mine is a European horn, and it has the last three numbers of the serial # faintly scribed on the inside of the neck tenon.

I can't. Has anyone seen this photo? In any case, what matters is if the neck fits and the horn plays well. And anyway the odds are very good that it's the original neck. How often are necks replaced? I guess I don't know the answer to that, but I'd be surprised if many necks are lost or so damaged they have to be replaced. Assuming it's a MKVI neck and not some after-market brand.

I guess you could look and see if the lacquer colour of the neck matches the horn. If it's very different, then maybe it's not original.

I have a 1964 French assembled blue S Mark VI. No serial engraved outside of the neck but you can see the first 5 serial numbers etched inside the neck. It's hard to see without a flashlight. You also might want to check that out.

It was also not so uncommon to match a neck to the horn at the shop when you bought it at that time. I'd rather have a great playing neck than the original one if the "correct" one sucked.

hello
I ve got a tenor Mark VI, my own, and i can seen the three number inside the neck. It is a 126 xxx serie. Thank you. I didn't know this numbers could exist.
Into the one i want to buy I can't see the three number. I see some thing like a 6 number but not the three. Mensurations are exactly the same. It's a good neck.
