how often do you need to bring your mark vi for a "check-up" at the shop. leaks adjustments etc. just curious about how much money annually is needed to keep these saxes in perfect playing condition.:mrgreen:

Hardly ever. Since getting both horns repadding about 10 years ago, they haven't have any issues. Occasional cork on the neck, but thats about it.

It can depend on what state the instrument is in in the first place. If it's been heavily used and has a lot of mechanical wear then it will probably need more frequent attention to keep it in good adjustment, but if it's been well overhauled or doesn't have heavy wear then it should stay good for as long as any other sax. And I agree with Jaared that MKVI's are very repairable. They're quite tough actually - as are most pro horns, but they were made well with high quality materials.
