The first person I met in Miami was Mark Hurwitz. Unknown to me at the time (I stopped for directions) in 1965, he would be a great mentor and friend. He was a great bari player and could cut any Klezmer tune on clarinet that was needed. One of the great south Florida musicians. He left us this week at 72.

I'm so sorry. He was still a reasonably young man.
