Not to minimize coronavirus but they’ve seemed to be discovering that in the majority of the fatalities there are underlying health conditions.
A friend in Italy has told me most who have died are 80+ with only two deaths directly caused by the virus without some pre-existing condition. The victims here have been nursing home residents and others in poor health.
I’m not trying to spread disinformation but here they are interviewing people who have recovered and doing well. They’ve describe it as any flu or bad cold they’ve had before.
59 for a jazz saxophonist is pretty good. We’re not known for living the healthiest of lifestyles.

sorry to say, but yes, older people are dying MORE than others as with anything, but this idea that only old and sick die of corona virus is just wrong.

I’ve just spoken to a good friend a doctor in an Italian Hospital . She told me they are now seeing many younger people among the death. Younger than 50.

I think it's safe to say that since the virus caused his death, it's highly appropriate that we discuss it here and not in a 'generic' thread. Sheesh...I mean really now! We are in such an impermeable bubble here that we have to extract the reason for a fallen brother's untimely demise that he shares with thousands more; a problem and challenge that seems to be getting exponentially worse where even realistic mitigation measures have all but dissipated?

I would like to respectfully suggest that the generic coronavirus posts be moved to another thread. This "In Memory Of..." thread is not an appropriate place for them.

Agreed, and I share the pain, another huge loss for the music world!

I wasn't referring to mention of it as his cause of death if it has been shared publicly, but to the discussion of who is or is not susceptible to coronavirus. It seems remarkably callous to me in a thread about someone who just died of the disease. This thread should be about the deceased individual.

Now that you've indicated precisely what you meant to say, it makes a little more sense. This situation is so fluid presently with its completely disruptive affect on everyone everywhere, that what we feel about it is frankly irrelevant; this is about as complete a collective experience that we'll have to accept and endure.

I am certain that my sax tech here in Barcelona, Diego Gozalez founding partner in Sax-On, certainly must have known him for also being from Buenos Aires and graduating from that same conservatory. Sad news especially for someone so young. Condolences to his family and friends for his loss.
