:!: Have an old Majestic Tenor Sax. Maybe from the 1940's or 50's. Can;t find a serial #. Is it worth cleaning , adjusting and repadding? Still plays just needs some standard rework. Finish is discolored according to age. Still has old case but in poor condtion.

You use http://www.yourwebsite.com/yourpicture.jpg

(Instead of <> you use []. I just did that so you could see the code.)

You can also click on the little paperclip icon (you see this when you're posting a new message) and attach a small file directly to SOTW's server from your computer.

Hi, thought I would dig up this old post and keep it going. I just wanted to get some information on my Majestic Stencil that I own that I will be soon selling. Not sure of the worth on this Vintage Tenor on the open market, and heck, since I am not the original owner, the age is a mystery to me too, although I think its a 60-70's horn based on conversation with previous owners family. Also, I know what we paid, but in my opinion it was a steal, so i have it listed for what I have in the horn. Take a look at my link below and see if you agree with price or if I am way off base.
The Bell just says Majestic, and then it has the number 13013 made in Italy on the opposite side, so I assume its a stencil made by Grassi?
Is this an intermediate model? The previous owner played professionally, but I am not convince it actually was a pro model.
See photos for more info.

Thank you

Chase

P.S. Could not upload photos for some reason, so for the short term, here's a copy of my craigslist ad. Feel free to help me if you see an error or problem with the ad.
Thank you in advance.

I had one of these a few years ago, and I'm almost positive it was a Grassi stencil. I thought it played great with nice ergonomics- very Selmer-like.
I think you have it priced right, $600-800 if it's in good playable condition. Good luck!
