Very interesting arrangement (and talk about one-man band):

I tried, but couldn't make it through. I don't even know the time stamp of when I bailed. You and I have different ideas of what makes for an interesting arrangement.

Hah, fair enough. Interesting to me is something that is out of the ordinary, which this certainly is. I did say you would either love it or hate it (obviously 12 people have loved it so far). I myself am not a fan of avant-garde type music, but I did make it through the entire video.

Good ability to play all those instruments. The singing doesn't seems as strong as his other abilities.
I'm not sure this was the best song choice. (?)
But I did wait for the sax to come in.

Gotta give him props for skill and creativity/imagination. Didn't really sound good to me, but I know one primary intent of avant-garde is to be disruptive to the norm and it "not sounding good" was done on purpose. I agree about the singing. His mixing abilities are also not that great.

I liked it, thought it to be very interesting to hear, although I agree with Guto, the weak mixing kills it a bit. But hey, he probably did everything alone, so give him props and cut him some slack.

Hell yeah, kudos! To me the music played had nothing to do with the incredible artistry of one guy to play all of those instruments with highly acceptable technique and sound. I've seen hundreds of 'sax sections' in this style with one player but this is the first I've seen with such a variety of instruments. Very impressive.

Atonal? 12 tone? Where is any of that in this arrangement? I heard a very recognizable harmonic and melodic structure throughout. Reminded me of Gil Evans.
+1

Very nice arrangement, good section playing and a nice soprano solo! I would be very proud of this! Imagine that arrangement with - say the metropole orchestra - and a real rhythm section so that not all the groundation would depend on bassoon and bass clarinet.
And yes, a good mix would e crucial.
Give all the recorded tracks to a pro audio guy who adds bass, drums and piano and even his singing would shine.

Count me as 3 for "a bit of Gil Evans". Mixing definitely needs work, mostly balancing instrument levels. It sounds a bit noisy due to too much of each instrument, and maybe the recording room is too resonant. Singing is just okay. Otherwise, very nice.

I've heard atonal, I've heard 12 tone, this is not that at all. It's very straightforward jazz harmony, in my ears. I would hire this guy for arrangements, not to record, mix, or sing. I think if he was working with a good band he would do very well.
