The band have been asked to do a gig, acoustic, next week.
I'm looking to put together a set list that is kind of laid back - it's for a jazz brunch.
So, being in a hurry looking for some suggestions for tunes that aren't going to put them back to sleep, but aren't too raunchy?
We have drums (brushes), keys, double bass and alto.
For that kind of gig i'd do lite jazz like you indicated but I throw in recogizable tunes from the 50s or 60s like sunny, isn't she lovely, my cherrie amore, flintstones (not burning), ticket to ride, etc. People that "hate" jazz will come up and thank you or even applaud when its something relatable. Not loud or flashy but def background feel. Good luck K
I agree with the “food, not you” recommendation. Think “incidental music”, background. Recognizable. Do you know age of attendees?
