In this interview with Ted Panken (https://tedpanken.wordpress.com/tag/lou-donaldson/), Lou mentions a thesis he wrote called, “The Transition From Swing To Bebop.”

Has anyone seen a copy? Lou says it is in the archive at North Carolina A&T, but a search of their online catalog didn’t turn it up.

I just completed a search on ProQuest - an international digital database of dissertations and theses for scholars. I checked the title, and received no results. I did an author check for "Lou Donaldson" – and got back only one hit:

"An investigation of ulceroprotection by mild irritants and prostaglandins in the gastric mucosa of the rat"

I saw that reference as well. This sounds like is was like a senior project so I wouldn’t think it would appear in ProQuest. Lou seems to date it around 1947. I’m just afraid that I’m the interim it may have been lost. I’ll send an email to the NC A&T librarian to see what they say.
