Do you mean i-7 ?

I would reccomend checking out Steve Neffs Mastering the Dominant 7 chord - he's around here somewhere if you search .
If you wanted an ' outside ' kind of approach you could look at the altered or half step diminished scales - but remember its a case of how you play the dissonances rather than reeling off a ' cool ' scale .

Not that this is specific to V7 and V-7 chords, but you can mine some interesting melodic ideas from classical music from the first half of the 20th century.
