Thanks Gary for that helpful link.

In my opinion Jeff Smith is the "real deal". I have had the good fortune to meet him at several NAPBIRT functions. In addition to being a very fine woodwind repair technician in his own right, he is continuously making better tools and materials available to others as well as sharing his repair technics in clinics and workshops. Once you meet Jeff you can immediately tell that he does all these things because he genuinely cares about improving the craft of instrument repair, and not just to make money and make himself "famous". In other words, he comes across as a genuinely nice, decent, and honest person in addition to all of his accomplishments and abilities. To me that counts for a lot when I am deciding which suppliers and marketers to support in the music business.
