I wrote a short screenplay called "Prisoner of Love", about 2 elderly jazz players. The script is the recipient of some good fortune and is being produced. The project is in pre-production and will be shot at the end of May.
The producer and director tried to obtain the rights to the song (Prisoner of Love), but the publishing company wanted far too much money. Instead, they are going to use original music, but would like a solo tenor for the opening credits.
The opening credits will be black and white photos of some hallowed jazz settings, a slide-show. The director is looking for 1:30 -2:00 of solo tenor. He would like it to start slow, mournful and melancholy, slowly increasing the tempo.
I am not at a level of playing where I can do the character any justice. The lead character, Shoebox Rollins is a 65-year-old tenor player in the mold of Young or Webster.
If anyone is interested, please PM me or answer here. There is no money for the recording, but you will be in the credits as well as a copy of the film. It will be entered into Film Festivals as well when completed.
Thanks,
Bill
