I am an amateur tech and there is some stuff that I can't do well enough. I am looking for someone who is very good at ding and dent work in the Twin Cities metro area (Minneapolis/St Paul) to fix some dings and bell damage I haven't been able to satisfactorily address. I don't need pad work or regulation done, so I'm almost thinking i need a brass specialist.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Try Schmitt Music.
If they don’t have a tech who can do it, they would certainly know who could help you out.
They are great people to work with.

Thanks for the name and recommend guys Would never have thought given other times I've walked into smaller Schmitts as I was less than impressed.

For what it's worth, Doug recently became quasi-retired. He's still doing work out of his house through Schmitt, but he won't be on site all the time. That being said, he's always done excellent work for me and he's been readily available even after the change. Last time I talked to him he had no plans to quit. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Another option would be the people at Midwest Musical Imports; Brandon Wozniak has recommended their work highly. Full disclosure, he does work there, but I trust Brandon and I've played a couple vintage horns they've worked on that have been excellent.
