A guy who is friends with some of the band members jumps on stage to sing along and gets carried away to the point where he wildly swings his arms and hits the top portion of my sax (in my mouth) resulting in three loose teeth - luckily there was no permanent damage. This was so completely out of the blue that I did not have time to react. But, lesson learned, I make sure to keep a safe distance now.

Yes. When playing -- or even holding -- the saxophone, one should maintain a No Human Contact buffer zone with a radius of at least two meters. Don't play requests, either. I'm serious.

I’m playing a 5000 person room and the song starts with a blazing sax solo and piano duet. Fog, lights, tension...cue the piano. Awesome. Cut to the spotlight on the sax player confidently poised on a speaker array:

Squeeeeeak....

Of course it’s all on video, but not one I’ll be posting.... sheesh.
