Hi, I recorded my last gig with a zoom Q4N.
I bought it few days ago, but it seems a very portable tool to record gigs.
Overall the conderser mics are good and the audio is better than the video, but it is a very usable device, not expensive and super easy to carry.
This is a solo on "Nobody else but me" with my trusty old Conn 12m.
Hope you enjoy it, bye

You make that bari sound effortless--really fun stuff- nice playing! As you say, the q4n is nice and portable and all and it picked up the sound quite well, but the "security camera" view isn't too great. There are a couple of other views built in, but still, sort of limited to a some video documentation of some pretty darn good audio.

Thank you. The next time I will put the Q4n in front of the stage. I will try also different scenes as you have suggested.
Of course if you want to shoot a detailed video there are cameras with superior performances, but they don't have good audio microphones, so you have to carry a camera and an audio recorder.
With the zoom you can carry only one device, not a bad option for a video "on the fly".
