Live Earth sax players

How many of you watched any of the Live Earth concerts Saturday? I was happy to see quite a few sax players, although I don't think I recognized anybody. A few I can remeber are:

Roger Waters (how would you play Money without a sax?)
Alicia Keys
Shakira
John Mayer
Dave Matthews (a regular band member, though)

There were also a several artists with horn sections who I really didn't expect.

Comments from anyone else?

Yes I "saw" a lot of 'em, but I didn't hear too many:x .

Josh Stone's sax/trumpet section sounded pretty good though (despite the silly Zoot suits).

Does anybody know who the alto player with Lenny Kravitz was? Great altissimo and talk about muscles: who knew the key to ultra high notes was the bench press!?

Fun show...I hope it does some good!

Anybody remember the tenor player that used to play with Tina Turner? He looked like Conan the Barbarian.

That was the godfather of soul James Brown's section (I heard in an interview).

I was just about to start a thread here asking if anyone knew who he was. Someone has to get back to me, I liked his style. It spoked to me.

Makes you wonder though: what do you have to do to get a gig these days:) ?

R.

Kravitz was surprisingly good too, I thought.

Hey Frank D - Love your avatar! I have a 24"x24" copy of the same thing matted and framed on my office wall. I liked the guy's work so much, I got smaller copies of the other 2 pictures in that series and framed them for home ...

Sorry - nothing to do with Live Earth sax players, I know
