One of the all-time great‘s. Such a great sound and such a great player. He always seemed to play the right notes at the right time. Never too much, never too little. He is a musicians musician!

Thank you for posting all these wonderful solos!!!!

You are welcome. When I started playing in 56 his sound was everywhere along with so many other super players. Sax solos on so many Top 40 hits back in the day that inspired a new generation. I still listen to Allen. Love his tone and style.

Re: Lee Allen

Lee Allen's solos are how I always tried to pattern my rock sax solos. I heard all those Little Richard records and I guess I soaked them up like a fish in water.

As always, thanks John Laughter for your research and cataloguing.

Re: Lee Allen

Lee didn't even make fifty bucks per session on a lot of those recordings, if that much. No credit, either.
