Wonderful stuff! And isn't that Steve Berlin on bari?
I've been listening to a lot of Lee Allen lately, from his 1950's music
through his work with the Blasters. I'm convinced that no one in history
could construct a rock 'n' roll saxophone solo like Lee Allen.
His tone, note choices, phrasing just blows me away every time.

Anybody know how Lee Allen got hooked up with the Blasters?
I've always wondered this.

very cool, Uncle Floyd always had some cool musical guests. Great use of Flutter Tongue, but could they crush the horns any further into the corner?

good find!!!

Thanks Neil.
pumseig, good to know you are listening to Allen's 50's roof raising solos with Little Richard. That was his heyday! Make sure that you are listening to the Specialty sessions rather than the later remakes. What a legend.
