I had a 7* BB for tenor and a 7B Special for alto and couldn't stand either of them, but when I flipped them on Ebay my timing was good, their values jumped up in the market, and I made about $100 on each piece. The engineering and design of the pieces is impressive, and they look cool, but I would never buy another Lawton. I guess they work for some people though. Doesn't James Carter still play one?
