I’m looking for a large chamber alto mouthpiece with roughly seven to a seven star facing (.065~.070"). I’ve been playing a HR Yanagisawa 8 on my French Vito alto and it works really well but I have an old gold plated Conn 1924 that I’d like something with a slightly less open tip and a larger chamber for a nice fat sound, and the Conn seems to require a bit more pressure than my Vito so I want a slightly more closed tip. Can anyone suggest anything? This needs to be in the price range of a rubber link or a Yanagiswawa. ($100 ballpark)

Look for an old Warburton D-series 7-tip. Not the present iteration, but the version that was being made seven or eight years ago, when Eric Falcon was working there. They're made of black ebonite with a gold band around the shank. I use one all the time on my 1923 Conn alto — beautiful tone, large volume when needed and even voicing right across the instrument.
